The British health technology company Eir Tec Ltd has established the subsidiary Eir Tec AS in Norway. The company, which develops AI-driven EEG technology for faster and more accurate mental health diagnoses, is targeting the Nordic market with its pioneering home-based neurodiagnostics.
From London to Norway
Eir Tec Ltd was founded in London in November 2023, and has in a short time positioned itself within digital health technology with its specialisation in home-based EEG monitoring and AI-driven diagnostics. The company has now taken the step across the North Sea with the establishment of Eir Tec AS - a Norwegian subsidiary that will serve the Scandinavian market.
The establishment is no coincidence. Several of the key people behind Eir Tec have strong Norwegian roots. Chief Technology Officer Håkon Berntsen is an experienced Norwegian technology entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in systems architecture and digital innovation, while Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Monica Berntsen has a Norwegian background and a PhD in neuropsychology from the University of Essex.

Faster ADHD diagnostics with AI and EEG
At the core of Eir Tec's offering is the "EIR Brain Health Monitoring System" - an AI-driven, web-based platform that makes it possible to carry out EEG-based assessments from home. The system uses a comfortable EEG headband and a mobile app, and gives clinicians access to neurodiagnostic data without the patient needing to visit a hospital or specialist clinic.
The technology is particularly aimed at ADHD assessment, neurological evaluation and general monitoring of brain health. Where traditional assessment pathways can take months, Eir Tec promises actionable insight in a fraction of the time.

A strong multidisciplinary team
The management of Eir Tec represents a unique combination of neuroscience, clinical psychology and technology:
Dr. Monica Berntsen, Chief Scientific Officer, is a trained psychologist and neuroscientist with a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Essex and Adler University, as well as a PhD in neuropsychology. She is registered as a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and has published research in areas including transcranial stimulation and EEG neurofeedback. She has clinical experience with neurostimulation, cognitive therapy and the treatment of neurodegenerative conditions.
Ignacio Zuniga, Chief Executive Officer, leads the company's business strategy and growth from the head office in London.
Håkon Berntsen, Chief Technology Officer, brings broad technology experience from companies such as InfoDesk AS, PayPond Inc and MediVox AI. He is educated in computer science from the University of Oslo and holds a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship from BI Norwegian Business School. Berntsen is based in Sandefjord and is well known in the Norwegian tech community, including through his work on the AI platform OpenClaw and his role as chair of the board of Open Info.
A great need in the Norwegian market
The establishment of Eir Tec AS comes at a time when the need for faster and more accessible mental health care in Norway is great. Waiting times for ADHD assessment in the public health service are still long, and private providers have grown rapidly precisely because they offer shorter waiting times.
A home-based EEG solution can potentially relieve a hard-pressed health service by giving clinicians a tool for faster screening and follow-up - without the patient needing to attend in person.
The Norwegian health technology market is growing strongly, and the country has a digital infrastructure and a population that is used to adopting new digital health solutions. This makes Norway a natural starting point for Eir Tec's Scandinavian expansion.
The way forward
Eir Tec's products are currently available for pre-order, and the company is in a build-up phase. With the establishment of the Norwegian subsidiary, Eir Tec signals that it is making a long-term commitment to the Nordic market.
For Norwegian clinicians and healthcare institutions, this could mean access to a new tool in the effort to achieve faster and better mental health diagnostics - driven by artificial intelligence and home-based neuromonitoring.
